2. Calmly gather your supplies from the front table. Do not waste materials.
3. Read through the Checklist and Overview worksheets to familiarize yourself with the expectations of the project.
4. Begin building a quality review for yourself! Do a great job today so that the exam will be much less stressful!
(I'd LOVE to see some pics of your work in progress - email or Remind chat me!)
5. Write your first and last name and block on the back of your flipbook.
NOTES:
You may listen to music as long as you use earbuds and keep the volume reasonable.
No one will be working outside of the room today.
Maintain a study hall/library atmosphere so everybody can concentrate on their work.
Take a couple of SHORT mental breaks, even stretch, then get back at it. You will have a 5 minute break as usual.
NEED TO ASK ME A QUESTION?
Send me a Remind chat - it will come to my phone and will get to me much faster than an email. Don't have your phone? Sign up with a computer and send me a chat - it will still come to my phone and I can get back to you. (If I don't get back to you right away, please be patient. I'm not ignoring you! I may not be available to answer you at that moment, but will as soon as possible - work on another portion of the project until then.) You may use the Remind chat option anytime from 7 a.m. - 7 p.m.

Friday 10-16 and Monday 10-19 Lesson Plan
Today, you'll be working on exponent laws and solving systems of equations algebraically. These 2 lessons will make homework problems in this unit easier and will continue to help us later in the course, so take good notes and work for understanding.
Use the video format to your advantage...stop to write things down, rewind when necessary to better understand, etc.
You may want to use color in your notes to visualize changes in the process or highlight main points.
Update your TOC with today's date and the following 2 entries:
Exponent Laws p. 13
Solving Systems of Equations Algebraically p. 14
Title each of those pages and follow through on each of the videos and directions below. Have a good day, do great work, and enjoy your weekend!

Don't worry about running out of room to take notes!
Take a regular sheet of notebook paper (or unlined paper) and continue taking notes through the next video.
When done, fold it in half and tape it onto p. 13.
Voila! Everything for exponents on one page! Sweeeeet!

#3: Get the Exponent Laws worksheet from our substitute teacher. Use your notes, re-watch parts of the videos as necessary, and work with your team to complete the worksheet.
#4: Turn in the completed worksheet.
#5: Take your 5 minute break - remember to represent yourself and GLHS well by not disrupting other classes and returning at the end of your 5 minutes.

Wed. 9/2 & Thur. 9/3 - Be sure to read everything carefully
Today's Goal: In order to bring everything together, to help any who may be struggling to connect the main ideas, and to provide a little more practice before our first assessment at the end of next week, we have a few short videos and practice to complete today. Use your earbuds/headphones - it's just you and me today. Rewind the video when necessary to understand the concepts. Teammates can help, but any conversation is on the math. Take your time with the practice worksheet. You should be able to complete it and show quality work before you leave today.
We're in this together! Your team conversations do show that you have been learning! Fabulous vocabulary usage and good instruction between teammates has demonstrated that many of you know more than you may think you do. Stick with me!!! Keep working, keep cooperating with each other, keep asking questions!!! We are all learning, and now that I know many of you better, I have some more ideas of things we can do in our time together to keep us all on steady ground. If we stick together and communicate, we WILL learn Algebra 2! That I can promise you!
Your Assignment:
1. Update your ISN's Table of Contents: On the next line, leave the date blank, title is "Learning Log: Domain/Range", page # 5. Next line use today's date, title is "Chapter 1 Quick Review", page #6. Remember to title your pages.
2. Use your laptop and earbuds/headphones to watch the videos below (each title is a link to a video) and take notes on page 6. If you need more room, take out a clean sheet of paper, finish your notes, then fold the paper in half and tape it to page 6. DO NOT WRITE ON PAGE 7!

HOMEWORK CHECK
1. Get your laptop; take out your homework.
2. Go to www.cpm.org/cca2; click on Homework Help in the left sidebar
3. Click on 1.1.2 and check your homework problems. Write any questions you might have on your homework paper so we can talk about them next week.
PLEASE READ COMPLETELY BEFORE STARTING TODAY'S TEAM ACTIVITY!
Your activity today is 1-11 on page 10. It will use the information you gathered about your team's function during the last block in activity 1-10. Your team will be creating a presentation so it will be important to write clearly and represent your team with quality work.
To display team function's information:
Your team will be able to use dry erase markers on the team desks to display your function's information. (You may also write your presentation statements on a sheet of paper for your reference when presenting to the class next week.)
Use graph paper for the graph of your function.
When the team has completed both activity 1-10 and 1-11, take a picture(s) of the information and email it to [email protected] with the facilitator's name and the block number in the subject line. It should not take more than 4 pictures to present your function and its relevant information.

Graphing Calculator tutorials (8-19 and 8-20-15)
Today, you will need:
Laptop
Earbuds
Graphing Calculator
You will learn different, but not all, features of the graphing calculator, from the very basic to the “Wow! I can’t believe it can do that!” I was even surprised by some features I’d never seen before! The tutorials use the TI-84, but the functions also work for the TI-83 (except for things like changing colors of the graphs). Follow what the tutor does onscreen and do it on your calculator to see it in action and practice. Since it is a video, remember you can stop, do, rewind, re-watch, do again as needed to understand what you're viewing. (Many of the videos start with closed captioning turned on. If you prefer not to see the words across the bottom of the video, click on the cc symbol and go to "off".) Be sure to watch in fullscreen mode so you can see the keystrokes easily.
Click on "TUTORIALS" in the title above and complete the following:
Part A - 1, 2 (keep calculator in Degree mode for now, all other options should have the first option highlighted for now), 5, 6, 7
Part B - view all
Part G - 1, 2, 3
Part H - 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7
As you can see, there are many more tutorials to watch, but these give us a good start and help us with today's activity. When your team has finished viewing the necessary tutorials, turn to Section 1.1.2. See the teacher for your assigned function and complete activity 1-10.
